Yoga Therapy (Therapeutic SomaYoga) merges somatic principles, breath-work, and mindful movement to support nervous system regulation, emotional well-being, and a deeper mind-body connection. Through gentle, curiosity-driven movement, this approach fosters a sense of safety, ease, and self-awareness, allowing the body to release stored tension and stress patterns.

Grounded in the rich traditions and ancient wisdom of Yoga and Buddhist mindfulness practices, this method honors time-tested approaches to self-awareness, healing, and well-being. Integrating these traditions with the modern somatic movement principles of Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais and Thomas Hanna, the research-backed Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, and nervous system regulation techniques informed by Dr. Stephen Porges' Polyvagal Theory, this approach weaves together somatic exploration, functional movement, breath-work and meditation techniques and therapeutic yoga to create a holistic path to resilience, healing, and self-regulation.

These time-tested practices, once understood only in spiritual traditions, are now being validated by neuroscience, somatic psychology, and medical research. Studies from institutions such as Harvard, Stanford, and the NIH confirm that mindfulness, breathwork, and movement-based practices can:

  • Regulate the nervous system and reduce stress hormones

  • Enhance emotional resilience and support trauma recovery

  • Retrain movement patterns to prevent chronic tension and pain

  • Improve interoception (deep body awareness) for greater self-regulation

  • Balance the mind-body connection for long-term well-being

Each private session is tailored to your individual needs, offering a safe, trauma-sensitive space for self-discovery, healing, and transformation. Whether practiced on a mat or a Thai massage table, with or without touch, Yoga Therapy provides a pathway to a more regulated, grounded, and integrated connection between body, mind, and spirit—supported by both ancient wisdom and modern science.
